Beautiful Glenariff Queen of the Nine Glens

The Spectacular Causeway Coastal Route, hugging the cliffs and coves of the north eastern coastline of Ireland is 'the Essential Irish Journey' - a very special trip not to be hurried.  Gasp at the spectular scenery scenery and take time to immerse yourself in Glenariff, one of the renowned Glens of Antrim.

Glenariff Tea House is an ideal base for a refreshing cuppa, whilst visiting the Glens of Antrim, Causeway Coast, or for the shopper enroute to Ballymena, Larne or Coleraine.

Glenariff is often referred to as the 'Queen of the Glen'. It is an impressive, large Glen, representing a classic geological example of a 'U-cut glacial valley', which formed as the result of a melting ice cap some 10,000 years ago.  As the ice retreated, glaciers moved and eroded the landscape to form large, melted water channels, leaving behind the unique landscape we see today.

The Forest Park is found at the upper part of highest the Glen.  Trostan is the highest Peak at 550m on the outskirts of the Forest Park on the Moyle Way.

It contains some excellent walks through a variety of landscapes, including a timber walkway that winds through the Glen and alongside the river Gorge, which was built over a 100 years ago.
